YogaVPK is an individualized approach to living, based on the science of Yoga and Ayurveda.

Yoga and Ayurveda originated at the same time in the same place about 5000 years ago, and were originally intended to be used together for maximum benefits. Yoga’s greatest gift is to help us realize our highest potential, our True Self. Ayurveda, the science of self-healing, shows us how to live in harmony with our unique constitution to keep ourselves strong and healthy. Thus the body-mind becomes a powerful vehicle through which we access and express our highest potential. Yoga and Ayurveda elegantly and perfectly complement each other.

The “ VPK ” in yogaVPK stands for Vata, Pitta and Kapha (also known as the doshas)
Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the three mind-body types described in Ayurvedic medicine. Everyone is a UNIQUE combination of those three energies. This explains why when you consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner their first answer to any of your questions is likely to be: “It depends”.

Ayurveda points to us that Nature is in constant flux, and since we are part of It, so are we! When we realize that change is the only constant in life, it’s easy to understand why “one-size-fits-all” anything cannot work. Instead, Ayurveda tells us that to thrive and enjoy life day after day, we must tailor all aspects of our existence to our individual nature, itself evolving through the passing seasons. What we eat, how we exercise, when we go to sleep and wake up, the type of meditation, breathing or yoga practice we do, the colors, aromas and people we surround ourselves with, our own thoughts and attitude, all affect us in some ways, either bringing us closer to balance, or away from it. Armed with Ayurveda’s refined understanding of why that is we can choose better. The beauty of Ayurveda though is that the knowledge it imparts is ancient, deep,wise, and resides in all of us. It can be accessed directly by tuning in to our divine internal guidance system, our intuition. For that Yoga shows us the way.
